Code of Conduct


Who must follow the Kazi Platform Code of Conduct?

This code of conduct (the Code of Conduct) is specific to the Worker. We expect all Workers to familiarize themselves with and adhere to the Code of Conduct, and to seek clarification and assistance with the relevant Kazi personnel in cases of uncertainty. Failure to do so may result in suspension, limitation and/ or termination of the Worker’s use of the Kazi Platform.

This Code of Conduct shall form part of Kazi’s Terms and Conditions. (Capitalized terms not defined herein shall have the same meaning as the definitions in Kazi’s Terms and Conditions). Nothing in the Code of Conduct shall be construed to contradict or otherwise invalidate any part of Kazi’s Terms and Conditions or Privacy Policy, which remain in full force and effect.

This Code of Conduct is not intended to be exhaustive. Rather, it serves to remind Workers of the basic principles of ethical behaviour and the relevant standards of conduct that should guide their thoughts, decisions and actions in responding to the wide range of situations and problems they are likely to be confronted with in the course of their engagements with the Clients.

Should you have any issues, questions or concerns, you may email The Kazi Platform also provides a report/help feature in its mobile application which allows the Worker to submit or report any issue, question or concern.

Serving our Users

Our Users’ value in Kazi is not solely based on Kazi’s ability to deliver exceptional services. Kazi holds itself to the highest standard of conduct, competence and performance. Below are Kazi’s values and guiding principles that help us maintain the highest standards. Please have them in mind in your use of the Kazi Platform and in interactions with the Clients.

  • Integrity

Kazi’s most valuable asset is the trust our Users have in us. We expect all our Workers to uphold the highest standards of integrity, honesty, good faith, and continuously strive to earn the Client’s trust.

All our interactions with our Users should build their trust in us.

Workers are expected to:

  • Never engage in any level of physical or verbal violence or threat of violence;
  • Report suspected wrongdoing or breaches of Kazi’s Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy or Code of Conduct; and
  • Demonstrate professionalism in communication with Clients.


  • Respect

Our Platform Users are, diverse and, chances are, you will encounter people who might not look like you, come from different backgrounds or Users who do not share your beliefs. We will expect you to respect the dignity, worth, equality, diversity and privacy of all persons.

Workers are expected to:

  • Respect and value differences;
  • Treat others with tact, courtesy, and respect;
  • Abstain from and actively discourage all forms of harassment, including verbal, nonverbal, written or physical abuse; and
  • Never report erroneous facts in bad faith.


  • Privacy and Security

By using the Kazi Platform, we are asking users to trust us with their personal information.

Due to the nature of the Jobs required to be performed by Workers on the Kazi Platform, the name, phone number, residence/physical address for the Client and any other personal information is made available to the Worker.

Preserving that trust requires that each of us respect and protect the privacy and security of that information.

Workers are expected;

  • To respect privacy (including without limitation private, family and home life), property, and data protection rights of the Clients.
  • To use the Client’s personal information only for the purpose of performance of the Job;
  • Not to use the Client’s personal information for any form of extortion from the Client (monetary or otherwise);
  • Not to record (whether video or audio or otherwise) any interaction by or with a Client without the consent of Kazi
  • Not to share the Client’s personal information with any third party; and
  • Not to use the Client’s personal information to share messages which are not related to the Job.


  • Observe the law

We expect the Workers to

  • observe all national and local laws at all times;
  • disclose to Kazi in writing if they have potentially relevant criminal convictions (other than Traffic Offences), that arise during their use of the Kazi Platform;
  • act in good faith at all times; and
  • not to use the Kazi Platform for the advancement of any illegal activity.

What other guiding principles to consider?

General Guidelines for the Worker

The guidelines below explain the Worker’s conduct or circumstances which may lead to the Worker’s suspension, limitation, and/or termination of the use of the Kazi Platform.

  • Sexual misconduct

Sexual assault and sexual misconduct of any kind is prohibited. Sexual assault and misconduct refer to sexual contact or behavior without the explicit consent of the other person.

Kazi Platform has a no sex rule. Sexual contact is prohibited while using the Kazi Platform, regardless of whether you know the person or they give you their consent. This includes activities such as sexual intercourse, solicitation of sexual intercourse, masturbation, or touching and exposure of sexual body parts.

It is okay to chat with the Clients but it is important to highlight that any behavior, comments or body language that would make the client feel uncomfortable is prohibited.

This includes asking whether the client is single or married, commenting on clients’ appearance, winks and whistles, explicit language or making any jokes about sex. Do not discuss your own or someone else’s sex life.

Personal space and privacy should be respected. Don’t touch or flirt with the clients, including anyone in their personal environment, regardless if you know them or not. Certain conversations that could be perceived as harmless can be offensive.

  • Never engage in acts of sexual harassment, and report any they become aware of;
  • Never engage in and report any acts of sexual exploitation and abuse and report any they become aware of;


  • Physical contact or assault


Don’t touch clients or anyone you just met while using the Kazi Platform.   This excludes Workers under the categories of “Hairdressing, Makeup”, etc.  Fighting, hitting, hurting, or otherwise intending to hurt anyone is never allowed.


  • Account sharing and impersonation.

To use the Kazi Platform, you need to register and maintain an active account. Don’t let another person use your account, and never share your personal username and password with anyone else. The Kazi Platform is intended to be used by one person per account. It is prohibited for the Worker to share an account with anyone else. This includes using your account to secure a job but sending someone else to do the job.



It is forbidden to bring someone else to assist you with the work you have gotten through the Kazi Platform. It is also forbidden to bring anyone else to either supervise you or watch you do your work. The Worker must complete all parts of the work with no exception.



  • Theft

The Worker is prohibited to steal any of the Kazi Platform client’s property.


  • Use of alcohol and drugs

The Worker shall not be in possession of and/or use alcohol and illicit drugs, and we expect the Workers to fulfill their duties without using alcohol, illicit drugs or controlled substances illegally.


  • Harassment

Aggressive, confrontational, and harassing behavior is not allowed. Don’t use language or make gestures that could be disrespectful, threatening, or inappropriate. Stay away from personal topics that can potentially be divisive, like religion and political beliefs.


  • Carrying a weapon

Weapons, licensed or unlicensed, are prohibited on any client property.


  • Respecting client resources e.g. Soap, water, electricity etc

It is prohibited to misuse client resources for the work being done or in any other circumstance.


  • Respect for client environment

Good housekeeping rules should be respected including safe disposal of waste.

  • Intellectual property

Kazi respects the intellectual property of others and expects Users to do the same. The Workers are prohibited from removing, altering, or misusing, visually or otherwise, any copyrights, trademarks or proprietary marks or rights owned by Kazi and its Affiliates or any other Users of the Kazi Platform.

The Workers are also prohibited from infringing on any third party’s privacy, or copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret or other proprietary right or rights of publicity or personality.

If you believe, in good faith, that any materials provided on or in connection with the Kazi Platform infringe upon your copyright or other intellectual property rights, please notify Kazi in writing.


  • Accepting gifts and/or tips

Great service deserves to be rewarded. Clients have the option to tip the Worker right from the app after the performance of a Job.


  • Recording conversations

You may not record conversations with others without the prior consent of everyone involved. This applies regardless of whether the conversation is recorded openly or secretly and no matter what device is used for recording (examples include tape recorders, cell phones, video recorders or wiretapping equipment).

  • Discrimination

Do not discriminate against someone based on traits such as their age, color, disability, gender identity, tribe, marital status, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected under the relevant law.

For example, it is unacceptable to refuse to provide services based on characteristics like a person’s age, color, disability, gender identity, tribe, marital status, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected under the relevant law. It is also unacceptable to rate another user based on these traits.

  • Unwanted contact

The Worker’s contact with the client should end when the work is complete unless it is to return a lost item. For example, texting, calling, visiting, or trying to visit a client in person after the work is completed is not allowed.

  • It is prohibited to do other work that was not agreed with by the client, while at a client’s environment.
